The PAVE Project is an Erasmus+ initiative designed to help parents educate their children through values. It responds to a growing need: many parents wish to actively shape their children’s values but often lack the necessary tools.

PAVE joins educators, psychologists, and institutions from Romania, Spain, and Italy to create a structured, easy-to-use guide that empowers parents to teach values at home while reinforcing the work done in schools

Project goals

  1. Provide a clear methodology – Develop a guide with definitions of values ​​and activities to work on that will enable parents to implement values-based education with their children.
  2. Engage parents directly – Training 300 parents through interactive workshops where they learn how to implement values education at home.
  3. Strengthen collaboration – Connecting families with schools and educators to ensure a consistent approach to children’s social and emotional development.

How does PAVE work?

Step 1: Creating the guide
Experts analyze values promoted by schools and educational institutions in different countries, selecting core values that are essential for children’s personal and social growth.

Step 2: Developing the matrix of values
A tool is created to link values with real-life situations, helping parents apply them in daily family interactions.

Step 3: Training adult educators
Twelve educators are trained to guide parents through the methodology and workshops.

Step 4: Interactive parent workshops
Parents participate in hands-on sessions, where they learn practical activities to reinforce values at home. These sessions focus on communication, empathy, responsibility, and self-awareness.

Step 5: Family reflection & cascade effect
Parents apply what they’ve learned at home, engaging their partners, children, and extended family in the values process. This creates a ripple effect, ensuring that values education extends beyond workshops into real life.

How can parents use PAVE?

  • Daily conversations: Use the guide’s examples to discuss values with your child in real situations (e.g., respect during a disagreement, honesty when making mistakes).
  • Role-playing & games: Engage in interactive storytelling, board games, and real-life role-play to reinforce key values.
  • Family challenges: Use fun family challenges (e.g., kindness missions, teamwork tasks) to strengthen positive behaviors.
  • Reflection & adaptation: Parents can personalize the approach based on their family’s needs, using the Matrix of Intra-Familial Values as a reference.

Why is PAVE important?

By actively shaping values, parents help children build strong character, make ethical decisions, and form healthy relationships. PAVE promotes a collaborative effort between families and schools, ensuring that children grow up in an environment that consistently supports their personal development.
